Job Description

The NOLA Project is New Orleans’ premier ensemble theatre company. Being an ensemble company, our four season productions plus an education program and other smaller activities means that we create work for 100+ artists every year. We can make this happen because we keep our overhead low by partnering with organizations in our city to produce our shows in both area theatres and unconventional places like NOMA’s Besthoff Sculpture Garden.

We are seeking an Operations and Grant Manager to join our small but mighty part-time staff. This is a new position. The right candidate will take over our core business functions and project manage our grant-application process. Our Finance and Operations Director, formerly responsible for these duties, is transitioning to Bookkeeper. They will be available to pass on institutional knowledge and aid in bringing our new staff member up to speed. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about supporting artistic endeavors to play a key role in keeping The NOLA Project running smoothly and making the most of our mission. Experience with the local arts and education-grant process is definitely a plus, but not a requirement for a curious and inspired candidate. Organizational and problem-solving skills will be essential to success along with creativity and excitement for working together to get things right.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining our Google Drive as well as our patron-management and ticketing platform
  • Assisting with fundraising activities
  • Maintaining our office-admin subscriptions, insurance, and compliance documentation
  • Reporting and communicating with the Board of Directors
  • Managing our grant-application and reporting schedule
  • Coordinating with the Co-Artistic Directors to execute grant applications, compliance, and final reports
  • Coworking Friday 9am-5pm at our office in the New Orleans Museum of Art
  • Occasional evening meetings both in-person and over Zoom
  • Assisting with box-office activities including will-call at some performances

Compensation & Time Commitment:

  • $16,000 annual salary paid monthly
  • Eight hours per week during business hours
  • An average of five hours per week (nights and weekends) depending on performance and grant-application schedules
  • Ideal start in early November

Please send resume and cover letter to aallegra@nolaproject.com. We will respond via email to select candidates and set up interviews.
