Lapeyre Stair, Inc. has an opportunity for a Shipping Handler to work in a team-related environment. Responsibilities include packaging customer orders for shipment, contacting carriers for shipments due and maintaining a clean and orderly work area.

Responsibilities

• Stacking, banding and preparing finished products for shipment
• Loading shipping trucks using overhead crane or forklift with finished staircases and landings
• Securing loads for shipment on delivery trucks in accordance with DOT regulations
• Monitoring the daily schedules and backlogs for shipments due.
• All housekeeping duties involving the shipping area.
• It is essential that this position is performed at the facility.
• Execute all safety procedures

Requirements

• High School graduate or GED required
• Previous fork-lift experience required.
• Previous shipping experience
• Able to evaluate necessary rigging to load/unload bulk steel using overhead crane or forklift
• Must be able to work well with others in a fast-paced team environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills coupled with excellent attention to detail.
• A self-managed individual with a stable work history.
• Must be able to perform the essential job requirements identified in the Functional Job Description for this position, including the ability to lift and move 50 lbs

• Overhead crane experience
