Job Description

We are looking to add a professional to lead our efforts in managing the energy transition.  This role will lead the firm’s efforts to manage and develop existing investments in alternative energy and will also be expected to originate and evaluate additional investment opportunities with the alternative / renewable energy industries.  It is an opportunity for a technically trained individual to take an entrepreneurial path to develop a new business line within a quickly growing firm.

Responsibilities:

·         Work with the President of the firm to develop and monitor our investment in e1 marine

·         Work with existing members of the team, naval architects, system integrators and regulators, to design, construct and deliver MV Hydrogen One, the world’s first methanol powered towboat

·         Actively seek additional investment opportunities related to the energy transition, particularly within the maritime industry with the goal of expanding the maritime industry’s access to, and adoption of, methanol, hydrogen or ammonia as a primary fuel source.

·         Required to work in the office and ability to travel within the United States and globally to generate new opportunities for the firm

·         Attend tradeshows in the United States and globally to represent Maritime Partners with the intention of elevating awareness of the brand and originating deals

·         Assist the team in evaluating and understanding alternative fuels and renewable energy opportunities


·         Uncover synergies between the firm’s core vessel leasing strategy and low carbon or renewable energy technologies


Desired Skills and Abilities:

·         Must have the tenacity and talent to excel at problem solving

·         Entrepreneurial self-starters that can work in both a team and individual setting

·         Excellent communication skills

·         Integrity, honesty, and must be a loyal team player

·         Ability to work long hours and occasionally on weekends

Education / Background:

·         Master of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering with a thesis or a Ph. D in Chemical Engineering


·         The ideal candidate would have experience of working in a start-up business environment
