Job Description
Trapolin-Peer Architects is seeking an interior designer with a minimum of 3-8 years of professional experience to join our collaborative design team. The ideal candidate is creative, a self-starter, organized, and a team player. An Interior Designer at Trapolin-Peer Architects works closely with the firm’s project teams to develop the interior architectural design for our custom residential, hospitality, and urban mixed-use design projects.
As New Orleans architects, we value cultural context and revere the role architecture has in creating a sense of place. We develop solutions designed to balance enduring authenticity with practical sustainability. Each new project is guided by principal leadership and inspired by our team of experienced and passionate architects — firmly committed to unique design that’s environmentally and socially responsive.
Trapolin-Peer Architects is located in the heart of the warehouse district in downtown New Orleans. Our new construction and adaptive re-use design work spans regionally across the Gulf coast with each location offering a different and unique context to work in.
Our workplace is respectful and diverse, with teams that thrive on engagement, learning, and creativity. TPA offers competitive benefits, compensation, and growth opportunities. Additionally, we offer paid licensure and industry memberships, professional development, mentorship programs, and a collaborative, stable environment.
The Role:
· Provide interior design support to a diverse set of project types and scales. Candidate must be able to prepare presentations
· Represent the firm to material and product reps and share relevant new data to project teams.
· Incorporate sustainable design strategies and healthy materials into projects
· Create, design and finish presentations, including material mock-ups for internal and client review
· Work with project teams to select and present finishes, furniture, and lighting
· Perform interior design assignments that include programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning and construction documentations
· Generate finish plans, specifications and material selections needed for construction
· Provide design support and documentation during completion and execution of design concepts using SketchUp, Revit and other graphic programs
Desired Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture, or equivalent.
· NCIDQ or working towards certification.
· 1-8 years of professional experience in mixed-use, multi-family, or hospitality project types.
· Excellent design skills
· Proficiency in Revit, Enscape, Adobe Suite, MS Office and InDesign.
· Bonus points for LEED AP, WELL AP or similar accreditation.
Only qualified candidates should send their resume and a sample of their portfolio or work samples for prompt and confidential review to resumes@trapolinpeer.com. No hard copies, drop-ins, phone calls, or recruiter inquiries. Thank you very much for your interest in Trapolin-Peer Architects! Only those selected for an interview will be contacted. We look forward to reviewing your application!
