Job Description
About Us: Located in the heart of the bustling Central Business District of New Orleans, the Pythian Market features a curated group of 13 local food vendors and a fast craft bar showcasing Louisiana flavors, craft cocktails, and some of the city’s best chefs.
Position Description: Pythian Market’s Lattes on Loyola (LOL) is looking for a positive and highly energetic individual to join our team. Lattes on Loyola is a new fixture in the CBD serving lattes, drip coffee, cold concoctions, and pastries. LOL is managed by the Pythian Market team, alongside Bar 1908 and The Pizza Box. You will join a team of experienced professionals in the hospitality industry. LOL also operates the Pythian Market’s online ordering system for pick up and delivery orders. This position will provide on-the-job training for the right individual.
Position Responsibilities:
- Opens or Closes LOL
- Stocks dry goods, syrups, pastry displays, and other coffee supplies throughout service.
- Assists bartenders and other Pythian employees in providing excellent customer service.
- Makes coffee, teas, and other non-alcoholic beverages
- Prepares teas, syrups (if needed), and cold brew
- Operates Square sales system and the online portal to expedite food orders for pick up and delivery
- Notifies and assists management with customer service and security needs.
- Removes waste as needed from all waste receptacles and ensures that all waste is disposed of properly.
- Comply with all established health, sanitation and safety procedures.
Skills and Experience
- Previous hospitality, customer service, barista or bar experience.
- Must have experience operating an espresso machine
- Must be able to lift/ carry at least 25 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally.
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend, squat, and reach above for long periods of time.
- Reliable transportation to and from the Pythian Market
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills – you enjoy talking to people, and they generally enjoy talking to you.
