Position Description: Pythian Market is looking for an energetic bartender to join Bar 1908. as the main bar in the market, we feature a range of beverages from creative and seasonal cocktails to New Orleans classics. As one of our bartenders, you will work efficiently to serve and entertain our guests, maintaining a lively and welcoming environment enjoyed by locals and visitors alike.

Position Responsibilities:
Maintain current and accurate knowledge of the changing menu.
Manage flow of guests in and around bar area while keeping bar clean and organized.
Maintain a good and positive attitude.
Properly check all guests’ identification.
Perform daily side-work.
Accurately process and collect payments from guests to include using the point-of-sale system, handling money, processing credit and debit cards, making change and processing gift certificates, cards and voucher.

Skills and Experience
Must have Previous bartending experience
Flexible schedule; must be able to work events on nights and/or weekends.
Must be able to lift/ carry at least 25 lbs. frequently and 50 lbs. occasionally.
Must be able to walk, stand, bend, squat, and reach above continuously.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills – you enjoy talking to people, and they generally enjoy talking to you.
Have an interest in the art of craft cocktail.
Time management and organizational skills.
Have the ability to follow directions and learn/ prepare standard beverages according to Bar 1908’s recipes and standards.
Ability to be proactive and to multitask.
You are of the legal age to serve alcohol in Louisiana.

You have a responsible server’s card.
