CotingaSoft is a New Orleans based software engineering company specializing in business software, startup prototyping/products and mobile apps. 

We believe everyone deserves amazing software. Our company was founded in 2006 by a software engineer to deliver on that idea. Engineering defines us and we believe in delivering valuable software above all things.

We maintain a consistent and predictable work pace and processes throughout our projects. Our days begin with a 15-minute stand-up meeting, driving our culture of collaboration and transparency. We strive to set realistic sprint goals and project timelines to effectively deliver and collaborate with our clients. We enjoy our work, but we work hard to make sure it doesn’t come home with us.

Our clients span industries including athletics, finance, food, industrial manufacturing, insurance, legal, medical, petrochemical and beyond. Their projects constantly present us with new challenges and problems to solve.

[This is presently a remote friendly position, but ideal candidates will be based in the Greater New Orleans area.]

Expectations:

• Continuously develop application features and deploy updates to projects  
• Coordinate with clients and project managers to determine requirements and plan projects
• Work independently and with team members to drive projects forward at a consistent pace 
• Participate in all stages of development including initial meetings, sprint planning, daily stand-ups and deployment

Experience:

• 2+ years of professional software development experience desirable 
• Strong knowledge of at least two web or mobile programming languages (Ex: C#, JavaScript, Kotlin, PHP, Python, Ruby, Swift, etc.) 
• Strong knowledge of web and database technologies (Ex: Apache, nginx, Node.js, MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• Strong understanding of web technologies (Ex: HTML, CSS, APIs, JSON) 
• Server technology and system administration experience (Ex: Linux, AWS) is a strong plus
• Computer Science or relevant bachelor degree is highly desirable
