Registered Interior Designer


The Registered Interior Designer will assist the architectural studio in developing design concepts that convey and support the branding of specific projects and clients. The Interior Designer of GLA is responsible for carrying out design solutions through proper space planning, finish, and material selection. Digital and verbal communication skills are a must. Being able to prepare presentations & documents that fit the expectation of GLA and convey a concept is a priority for this position. This person must be of a diligent, independent, creative mind, and skill set. Juggling the creative and management mindset is a must for the successful operation of this position. This person must be able to fill a self-sufficient role and manage their tasks and projects accordingly.

Responsibilities and Duties

·       Oversee and participate in the design and project delivery process for Interior Design services. Coordinate with cross-discipline team members to ensure that everyone is on track with project requirements, deadlines, and budgets.

·       Engage in the development of Project Proposal and scope of work. Remain responsible and aware of project responsibilities, tasks, and milestones associated to obtain the success of the project. Be aware of additional services opportunities and present to the management team and client for approval.

·       Build client relationships through trust and loyalty.

·       Manage one or more interior design projects collaboration with all team members, through all phases of design through construction completion.

·       Thorough understanding and preparation of commercial interior design projects from initial concept through construction document process including.

·       Complete interior architectural space planning and design.

·       Manage FF&E budget creation, material selections and specifications.

·       Conduct RFP’s, complete bid analysis, negotiate and administer contracts for FF&E packages.

·       Develop digital & physical presentation boards throughout the project process and as required by milestones.

·       Coordination and management of reps including product, finish, and furniture reps.

·       Ensure company policies, procedures and guidelines are compiled within a professional manner and are demonstrated in all oral and written communications.

·       Exceptional communication skills are a must. Must be able to effectively communicate with clients, project team members including consultants & contractors, studio, and management team.

·       Proper budgeting, cost estimating, budget management as needed for Interior Design scope work.

Required Skill Sets

·         Education and certification requirements as stated by the NCIDQ.

·         Maintaining NCIDQ certification will be required.

·         Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of interior design, appropriate product application, building codes, construction, and cost.

·         Strong skills in Revit 2021, Adobe Creative Suite, Bluebeam, Enscape, and Microsoft office platform.

·         Superior understanding of construction document content and preparation.

·         Ability to work with minimal direction in a fast-paced environment.

·         Supreme time management and multi-tasking capabilities.

·         Results-oriented and solution-focused.

·         Excellent organizational and time management skills including the ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet changing deadlines.

·         The candidate will enjoy the opportunity of getting to know their clients as a personal and operational business. 


·         Excellent & effective collaboration ability within the architectural studio.

·         Must be flexible enough to be a support person and act as a team lead as required by different projects.

·         Proven ability to identify, solve problems and resolve conflicts.

·         Excellent internal and external customer service skills.

·         Excellent judgment and decision-making skills.

Desired Skill Sets

·         Knowledge in effectively contracting services for commercial use following industry-appropriate rates and pricing.

·         Collaboration with the Leadership team in structuring Interior Design services to best compliment Architectural services and increase business opportunities.

·         Ability to recruit or attract qualified and impressive candidates to grow the Interior Design department.
