Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD) offers New Orleans police officers another tool in their kits when responding to low-level offenses related to unmet behavioral health needs, substance use disorder, or trauma-- and that alternative to arrest is intensive, harm reduction based case management. LEAD is an innovative approach to community safety grounded in the belief that wellness and healing requires connection over punishment.
