A trip to Paris in 1998 inspired owners Desiree Petitbon and Juliet Holton to return and improve lingerie offerings in New Orleans. Copying the corner boutiques seen all over Paris, Basics Underneath Fine Lingerie opened in 1998, celebrating all that is beautiful and feminine. As native New Orleanians, the duo correctly assumed the local “joie de vivre” easily expanded to include a love of lingerie.  What began as a small boutique has grown into a regional brand, offering a unique selection of designers.
