The New Orleans Pharmacy Museum is housed in the 1823 Creole townhouse of Louis J. Dufilho, Jr., America's first licensed pharmacist.  Dufilho was licensed by the State of Louisiana in 1816.  His apothecary was built in 1823 and was a working pharmacy and residence for about 50 years in the 19th Century.  The  Museum has two floors of exhibits on pharmacy, medicine and healthcare.  The Museum also has a courtyard that can be rented for private events.
