NOLAvate Black is committed to shifting power toward racial equity and inclusion to build a sustainable and accessible technology ecosystem in the Greater New Orleans Region.
We offer a safe community for Black professionals and entrepreneurs in the emerging technology sector to build collective capacity by leveraging shared resources, human capital, and economic opportunity in the Greater New Orleans Region.
The Greater New Orleans region has a tremendous opportunity to build an inclusive and sustainable talent pipeline by connecting local Black residents to high-wage technology jobs that can close the wealth gap. Over 20,000 tech jobs have been created in the New Orleans region since 2006 and we don’t see this growth slowing down anytime soon. The data also shows a projected 1.4 million open tech jobs nationally by 2025.
There are numerous local organizations offering industry-specific workforce training, but local tech companies still struggle with recruiting and retaining skilled, diverse talent. Level Up NOLA will focus on growing and expanding the Black Tech Collective in an effort to provide a source of diverse talent for companies committed to building an inclusive workplace.
Let’s Build, Together!
We believe Advocacy, Education, Access, and Community are key components in our people-centered and data-driven approach. Our work is more than career advancement - we are equipping people of color with tools to build collective power to close the racial wealth gap that will impact our communities for generations to come.
Level Up NOLA maps accessible pathways into the technology sector by connecting job seekers to resources, mentors, and career opportunities to advance their careers.
