First Unitarian Universalist Church of New Orleans (FUUNO)

We are a richly historic, diverse and inclusive, liberal religious community of free thinkers, inspired by reason and spirit. Members of First UU Church commit to seek meaning and wholeness in our lives and justice in the world.

Our congregation was born in 1833 out of the radical heresy of Rev. Theodore Clapp, that God loves all humanity. The earliest days of our congregation found our ministers and members deeply involved in civic life, in issues of equity and justice, and this tradition carries through today. Through the programs of the Center for Ethical Living, the church’s Social Justice Team, and the individual efforts of our members and friends, we work together to make this city and this world a better place.
