New Orleans Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness

Orleans Parish

As the coordinating public safety agency for the City of New Orleans, the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (NOHSEP) is responsible for administering the City's crisis and consequence management program. It coordinates the activities needed to protect the lives and property of its residents and visitors from crises - both natural and manmade - through "all-hazards" planning. Our initiatives build New Orleans' capacity to prevent, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate major emergencies and disasters.
