Liberty’s Kitchen, Inc., is a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation and social enterprise located in the Tulane/Gravier neighborhood of New Orleans across from the Orleans Parish Criminal Courts Complex. Our retail food service establishment – Liberty’s Kitchen Café and Coffee House serves Starbucks® coffee and gourmet espresso beverages as well as freshly baked breakfast items and homemade soups, salads and sandwiches for lunch. While serving as an anchor in a neighborhood of need, our café and coffee house also serves as a training vehicle for the Liberty’s Kitchen Youth Development Program. The purpose of the employability skills training program is to provide at-risk youth ages 16-20 with the opportunity to build a better future by increasing their ability to change their situation and engage in a supportive community where they will learn life, social and employability skills in a culinary setting. SCOPE: Working with executive leadership, the Youth Development Director is responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of a comprehensive youth development program for at-risk youth ages 16-20. QUALIFICATIONS: ? Bachelor’s degree minimum, Masters preferred ? Minimum of five years experience providing direct services to youth with at least two years experience in an administrative or managerial capacity in an organization that provides direct services to youth ? Ability to articulate a vision about preparing youth for the future—from social, economic, cultural and personal perspectives—to partners, funders and the community ? Highly positive and enthusiastic style capable of motivating others ?
