The Eagle Saloon Initiative

Located at 401 S. Rampart St., the Eagle Saloon building is one of the most important musical landmarks in New Orleans. Around the turn of the twentieth century, this building was a wildly popular dance hall where jazz legends like Buddy Bolden, Jelly Roll Morton, and Bunk Johnson performed, caroused, and changed music forever. Today, it is one of the last standing buildings where jazz was born.

The Eagle Saloon Initiative is a non-profit with a vision. As we work to resurrect the Eagle Saloon building, our mission is to promote musical innovation, preserve NOLA culture, and educate and inspire young artists in a life-changing environment.
