About Community Academies

CANO is a new charter school management organization created to bring together Esperanza Charter School and Lafayette Academy of Choice Foundation and Foundation Preparatory Charter School with the ultimate goal of strengthening all three schools, while also maintaining their unique cultures and communities.

These schools share a commitment to serving all students in our diverse New Orleans community, a foundational principle upon which Community Academies was founded. Community Academies Founder and CEO, Myrialis King, will work with each school to enhance their specialization in highly personalized, inclusive education for all students.
