Founded in 2001, Families and Friends of Louisiana’s Incarcerated (FFLIC) is statewide grassroots, multi-generational membership-based organization committed to abolishing all forms of state violence against Black and Brown youth. Based in New Orleans, Louisiana with additional chapters in Lake Charles, Lafayette, and Shreveport, we seek to divest from the youth justice system and invest in community-based alternatives as well as transforming our education system into one that truly serves young people of color. Our work supports and is led by families and youth who are directly impacted by the youth justice and education systems. We support, nurture, and harness the power of those most impacted to achieve lasting and profound change.
