www.strochproject.org Job Advertisement Release September 8, 2009 Project Director Reports To Board of Directors Project Mission The Faubourg St. Roch Project (FSRP) has as its mission the renaissance of one of New Orleans' most historic, urban neighborhoods. The organization was formed post-Katrina as a collective of neighborhood activists and New Orleans natives who have expertise in sustainable housing, preservation, finance and the arts. FSRP is augmenting the resources of longstanding institutions to help residents return to and benefit from a revitalized community. FSRP's strategies include rebuilding/renovating damaged housing, invigorating public spaces, and establishing and supporting commercial and community enterprises. Job Description Responsibilities include: fundraising; budget oversight; supervision of professional and lay staff; maintaining the project’s organizational culture, values, and reputation with staff, funders, agency partners, regulatory bodies, suppliers, neighbors, and general public; providing day to day management and oversight; developing short and long range organizational performance objectives, establishing and maintaining productive partnerships with public and private agencies, community and faith based organizations in pursuance of project mission; representing the project at meetings and public events; establishing effective management tools to monitor financial activities, program quality and performance outcomes; planning and directing all fund development activities; staffing and Board of Directors. Qualifications • Minimum of a Bachelors degree in related field and experience demonstrating progressive management and supervisory responsibility in a non-profit setting. • Previous experience with budget development, oversight of program operations and expenditures required. • Successful track record of securing grant and /or foundation funding in support of programs desired. • Experience serving low-income populations, and/or housing development and construction management and/or economic development programs preferred. • Professional references must be provided upon request.
