unCommon Construction is a nonprofit that uses the build process to empower youth to lead the workforce after high school or college. Through our apprenticeship program, students from different high schools join a diverse team to earn hourly pay, school credit, and “Equity Award” scholarships for building a house or other project from start to finish. Throughout their time in this real-world learning environment, apprentices develop skills and relationships that last as long as the projects they build together.
