Trellis is an innovative college and career program founded in 2019. Through a partnership with Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), we support students across Louisiana in earning college degrees and advancing their careers. We do this by pairing SNHU’s accredited, online, competency-based curriculum with start-to-finish coaching and support services from Trellis as students earn associate and bachelor’s degrees affordably, flexibly and with a focus on employment and career advancement. 

Nearly three-quarters of college students are non-traditional students, which means for the vast majority of today’s undergraduates, a different college design can serve them better. And nationally, just 10% of socioeconomically disadvantaged, first-generation college students graduate within 6 years.  

Trellis’ first two graduating classes have proven what is possible with Trellis’ structure and support. All graduates have finished their AA or BA degree in under two years (compared to the state average of 5.1 years). Just as importantly, over half of Trellis’ graduates have finished with $0 in student loan debt. Students who needed to use loans graduated with only $2,400 in debt, compared to the national average of $20,400 for AA completers.
