Founded in 1906, the Louisiana State Museum collects, preserves, interprets and presents the state's rich history and diverse cultures through more than 400,000 artifacts and works of art. In addition, the Museum's collection includes six historic buildings in the French Quarter and the archives of French and Spanish colonial rule.
