The Prevention Research Center is working to build a healthy environment in a renewed New Orleans. As one of 33 Prevention Research Centers funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, our focus is on the impact of the physical and social environment on obesity. Our research seeks to understand how our environment influences behavior and impacts health. We also collaborate with a number of local agencies and community groups to promote healthy environments.
