Touro Synagogue was founded in 1828 and is the oldest synagogue in the U.S. outside the original 12 Colonies.  Touro joined the Reformed movement in 1891 and has been a leader in the movement ever since.  Touro Synagogue is committed to building an inclusive, safe and equitable community through  education, advocacy and action both within our synagogue and in new Orleans at large.
