Front and Back of House Job Responsibilities:
Responsible for the preparation of certain food items
Responsible for greeting our guests and taking their orders accurately in a friendly manner.
This position requires knowledge of the menu items and their ingredients as well as
familiarity with the step‐by‐step procedure for friendly and efficient customer service. In
addition, Team Member will be responsible for accurate cash control.
Responsible for delivering orders to guest. To ensure that each order is complete and
prepared properly, the team member will have to become familiar with all the menu items
and their packaging.
Responsible for cleanliness in the dining room and service to our guests.
Responsible for insuring that each guest receives exactly what was ordered, both promptly
and courteously. Orders must be directed to the dining room, curb side and pick up areas in
an orderly and organized manner. All orders must be verified for correctness and
completion.
The team member must have the awareness to recognize if any particular
station is about to fall behind and have the ability to render assistance at that station
without hindering his/her remaining responsibilities.
Responsible for filling all drink. In addition, the team member must be familiar with
customer service procedures.
Responsible for the preparation of each menu item quickly and according to specks. The
team member is also responsible for maintaining the quality standards of the products
he/she prepares.

Additional Front of House Responsibilities:
Clean tables or counters after patrons have finished dining, sweep dining room area
Maintain and clean equipment in assigned areas
Handle cash transactions with customers using cash registers
Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
Pleasantly deal with customers to ensure satisfaction
Maintains table by removing finished courses and replenishing utensils as necessary
Supports wait staff by assisting them with delivery of food and retrieval of any supplies they may require
May be cross-trained to operate areas in the absence of an employee from another area
Job Specifications:
1 year experience in a casual restaurant dining
16 years of age or older.
Ability to be self‐reliant. Execute assigned duties and responsibility from upper
management staff
Able to speak, read, and write effectively. Excellent oral communication skills to effectively
communicate with management, corporate staff, restaurant employees, and customers
Must adhere to McAlister’s uniform and grooming policy
Able to stand and walk for approximately 95% ‐ 100% of shift
Able to lift and carry a maximum of 50 pounds
Able to work flexible hours
Ability to travel to assigned restaurant location and operate respective work stations. Work requires standing and walking 80‐90% of the time
SHIFT LEAD:
Overall responsibility:
The Restaurant Shift Leader contributes to the success of McAlister’s Corporation through assisting in the daily operations of the restaurant. The Shift Leader’s responsibility is to direct the operation of the restaurant, in the absence of the General Manager and/or Assistant Manager, while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, service, cleanliness, safety and sanitation by directing and supervising team members. Shift Leader is also responsible for handling issues with team members, food suppliers and guest directly, then escalates them to the General Manager/Assistant Manager when necessary. Key areas of responsibility:
The ability to provide supervision during assigned shifts.
Provides team members, and guests with a positive experience and atmosphere.
Manages both FOH and BOH shift responsibilities to include scheduling of staff to minimize overtime and achieve daily labor controls and cost as assigned by management.
Monitors speed of service to ensure a positive guest experience.
Handle guest comments and complaints.
Supervise daily shifts to ensure McAlister’s standards, product quality and cleanliness is maintained.
Assist in the ongoing training of team members, including new hires as well as existing staff to make certain McAlister’s procedures and processes are followed. Performs line checks as necessary.
Enforce uniform policy and standards.
Ensures proper cash handling procedures are followed.
Opening and closing of restaurant in the absence of upper management.
All other duties as assigned by management.
