New Orleans Musicians’ Assistance Foundation (NOMAF) is a lifeline to protect and promote the health for musicians and culture bearers in the Grater New Orleans area. The foundation was created to support the New Orleans Musicians’ Clinic (MOMC) by providing supplementary funding to support access to healthcare for its targeted populations regardless of their ability to pay. Services in addition to clinical health services include wellness education, community health opportunities, preventive healthcare, as well as mental health and other specialty and community social services. By providing access to quality physical and mental healthcare in addition to connections to social services, NOMAF strengthens the promise of creating health equity and social justice for this population. Specifically, NOMAF connects them to the care and services in other areas needed to protect and preserve the culture for future generation.
