Orleans Parish
50-100 Employees
The New Orleans Family Justice Alliance is a partnership of agencies dedicated to ending family violence, child abuse, sexual assault, and stalking through prevention and coordinated response by providing comprehensive client-centered, empowerment services in a single location.
We are the designated domestic violence and sexual assault provider in Orleans Parish.
Starting as Crescent House, the first domestic violence emergency shelter program in Louisiana, which opened in 1979 as a program of Catholic Charities, the New Orleans Family Justice Center was developed as a way to provide all possible services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault from under one roof. The New Orleans Family Justice Center opened in 2007, and the operations of Crescent House were transferred to the Alliance in 2012.
Our collaborative brings together the responses of the New Orleans Police Department, the New Orleans District Attorney's Office, and many different governmental and non-governmental, non-profit agencies to serve clients conveniently, upholding confidentiality and promoting healing and empowerment.
