As an archivist and educator, I constantly evaluate how to frame the material culture of the past as an essential part of understanding the present.

My time spent studying medieval literature, history, and languages has cultivated a skill set in making the arcane relevant and reviving 'dead' languages and literatures as vital to non-specialized audiences. While the focus may change, my experience in academia has provided me with both the drive and the interest to educate clearly and passionately.

In the course of earning my doctorate, I have spent considerable time honing my skills as a writer, researcher and project manager. My research focuses on how Middle English romance portrays and exploits vulnerable bodies in narratives of martial prowess. Although my research focuses on the medieval period, it has opened up broader avenues in my work within the university community.

In my current position as the Education and Outreach Coordinator at the UConn ASC I have taken on responsibilities for curriculum design and development. In this role I strengthen establishing faculty and program connections between the UConn ASC and UConn Community as well as create new strategic partnerships for developing archival pedagogy. In addition, I am responsible for teaching instructional sessions on primary source literacy for humanities courses.

Connecting my diverse skills to other theaters of thought drives my intellectual curiosity, and I thrive on discovering the adaptability of those skills in new professional environments.
