Director of Human Resources


ReNEW’s Director of Human Resources guides and manages the overall provision of Human Resources services. The director originates and leads Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.

Employee Relations, Benefits, & Payroll

  • Provide day-to-day support for employees with inquiries regarding benefits, pay, and employment questions

  • Prepare a comprehensive, culturally-rich annual new hire orientation for new hires

  • Manage administration of all employee benefits, including health, life/disability, 401K, pension, unemployment, and build awareness and usage of all benefits

  • Submit payroll reports to the Chief of Finance and ensure employees are on-boarded and off-boarded within appropriate time frames

  • Manage relationship between ADP and benefits providers

  • Work with finance team to submit semi-monthly payroll

  • Provide continuous staffing updates to stakeholders

  • Evaluate and recommend improvements to employee benefits packages

  • Utilize a Human Resource Management System, oversee and run implementation, conduct ongoing maintenance and coordination

  • Manage network-wide attendance policies and systems

  • Collaborate with the Chief of Talent and Director of Staffing to support employee engagement and retention efforts

  • Participates in staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as they arise to keep up with organization-wide strategy and efforts

  • Automate and optimize systems, processes, and workflows

  • Conduct legal investigations and make employment recommendations



  • Oversee and manage the HR Generalist and the overall lifecycle of employees

  • Prepare a comprehensive, culturally-rich annual new hire orientation for new hires

  • Collaborate with Recruiting Team during the hiring and staffing process



  • Assist with annual financial audit to ensure no findings

  • Develops, integrates, and manages a system to comply with mandatory state reporting such as PEP

  • Oversee all labor and employment compliance issues, working closely as necessary with outside legal counsel

  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures agency’s compliance

  • Manage certification process for educators

  • Communicates changes in ReNEW employee policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance is followed

  • Manage and revise the HR handbook as needed



  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Experience managing HR in an organization

  • SHRM Certification preferred

  • Experience with ADP required

  • Strong project management skills, ability to juggle multiple priorities, and meticulous attention to detail

  • Track record of outstanding customer service

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Team player with strong interpersonal skills

  • Zest, grit, hope, social intelligence, gratitude, and a sense of humor


FLSA Classification: Exempt
