Job Description

A loving family in New Orleans is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join their care team for their 28-year-old daughter with cerebral palsy. This is a part-time, in-home position.  If it turns out to be a great fit, this part-time role has the potential to evolve into a full-time position accompanied by healthcare options.

The ideal candidate will support her in living a vibrant, active life - whether that’s helping her pursue life skills at home or accompanying her to fun, social outings like museums, shopping, or movie nights. A vehicle is provided for all day-to-day transportation and social activities, so the nurse is not expected to use their personal car during shifts.

She is bright, social, and eager to learn, and thrives with the support of kind, consistent caregivers. We're looking for someone who brings genuine enthusiasm, patience, and purpose to their work.  This is a unique opportunity for an LPN who wants to build a meaningful, long-term relationship in a stable and supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

- Provide personal and clinical care to a young adult with cerebral palsy in a home setting

- Support social and recreational activities in the community (e.g., museums, shopping, movies)

- Use the provided vehicle to accompany her to events, errands, or appointments

- Assist with daily living activities and light OT-style routines

- Encourage communication and life skills development (experience with AAC devices is a plus)

- Maintain accurate records and communicate with family and other care providers

Preferred Availability:

We are especially looking for candidates who are available during the following shifts (flexibility possible):

- Saturday Day & Night

- Sunday Night

- Monday Day

- Willing to coordinate schedules with other team members

Qualifications:

- Current LPN license (Required)

- CPR certification (Required)

- Valid Driver’s License (Required)

- Proof of auto insurance (Required)

- Reliable transportation to and from the residence (car not needed for duties)

- Experience working with individuals with special needs strongly preferred

- PT or AAC experience is a plus, but not required

- Strong communication skills, compassion, and a patient-centered approach

Benefits:

- Secure on-site parking provided during shift hours

- Supportive, stable care environment with collaborative scheduling

- Work with a joyful, engaging individual who thrives with a compassionate team

- Opportunity to grow into a full-time role with healthcare options

Please submit your resume along with a brief note about your interest in this role and any relevant experience. We look forward to connecting with compassionate professionals who love what they do!
