Job Description

About CRCL
The Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana (CRCL) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to unite people in action to achieve a thriving, sustainable Louisiana coast for all. CRCL works at the local, state and federal levels to ensure that restoring and protecting Louisiana’s coast are top priorities for the state and the nation. In addition to CRCL’s roles as an advocate and a watchdog, the organization serves as a responsible steward of Louisiana’s rich coastal wetlands, actively facilitating and funding restoration projects. CRCL unites a diverse, nonpartisan set of interests via its board of directors and robust organizational partnerships. Through the efforts of volunteers who recycle oyster shells and plant marsh grasses and trees, membership events, conferences and newsletters, CRCL connects with thousands of individuals each year. CRCL’s multifaceted, comprehensive, coast-wide approach distinguishes the organization from every other civic and environmental group in the region.

The Role

Reporting directly to the executive director, the operations coordinator ensures smooth daily operations at CRCL. The position supports the ED, assists across departments and manages essential administrative functions. It’s an excellent opportunity for an experienced, detail-oriented professional to join a respected, high-impact organization in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Executive Support

• Coordinate and prioritize scheduling for the executive director including meetings, travel arrangements and key commitments.

• Coordinate board of directors and committee meetings: schedule, prepare agendas, collect and distribute materials, and support accurate record-keeping.

• Draft correspondence and presentations on behalf of the ED.

• Provide general support to leadership team initiatives, including timelines, scheduling and content preparation.

Operations & Office Management

• Serve as liaison for the lease, IT providers and other vendors.

• Oversee office logistics, including supplies, phones and technology needs.

• Maintain organized internal files and information systems.

• Coordinate staff meetings, hiring and occasional staff events.

• Provide light HR support, including maintaining basic personnel records, tracking PTO and assisting with employee onboarding and offboarding.

Administrative & Project Support

• Enter financial data and provide basic accounting support (e.g., invoice coding, expense reimbursements, receipt/credit card uploads and reconciliation assistance).

• Assist with organizational and departmental work planning and project tracking.

Other Duties

• Manage special projects assigned by the ED.

• Support cross-department events and activities, including occasional evenings or weekends.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of professional office experience.

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.

• Independent and self-motivated, with the ability to think strategically, take initiative and make sound decisions.

• Ability to adapt in a dynamic environment, collaborate effectively and learn new technologies and tools.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace (Word/Docs, PowerPoint/Slides, Excel/Sheets).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience coordinating boards or committees.

• Familiarity with nonprofit operations.

• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting systems.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $45,000–$55,000, commensurate with experience.

• Generous insurance, retirement and leave policies (including parental leave).

About Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana

Map Pin IconOrleans ParishCompany Profile

The Coalition to Restore Coastal Louisiana is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to unite people in action to achieve a thriving, sustainable Louisiana coast for all.

Incorporated in 1988, CRCL represents a unique mix of businesses, local governments, industries, scientific communities, national and local conservation groups, hunters, anglers and a broad spectrum of concerned residents who share a common vision and commitment to the sustainability of coastal Louisiana. The common vision of these varied and diverse interests is the driving strength of CRCL, the most effective and recognized coastal advocacy organization in the state.

Recognizing that Louisiana’s coastal land loss will have dramatic impacts on the nation’s energy, navigation and fisheries interests, CRCL works at the state, local and federal levels to ensure that restoring and protecting coastal Louisiana is a top priority for our state and the nation.

In addition to our role as advocate and watchdog, we also serve as responsible stewards of Louisiana’s rich coastal wetlands. We facilitate and fund restoration projects through our Native Plants Program and Oyster Shell Recycling Program, and we work diligently to raise awareness and educate others about the importance of preserving and restoring coastal Louisiana.

This multifaceted, comprehensive and coast-wide approach to coastal restoration distinguishes CRCL from every other civic and environmental group in the region. Like the Mississippi River Delta, our work is constantly evolving. You can be part of the solution.
