Job Description
**School location to be assigned**
Responsibilities:
Provide support to the food service program and activities at an assigned location with specific responsibilities for supervising all aspects of the school food service program and food service workers/other assigned personnel to maximize work force and production efficiency, including but not limited to:
- Enforces safety rules, corrects and/or reports unsafe working conditions and practices safe working habits for the purpose of ensuring a safe, clean and sanitary working environment
- Inventories food, supplies, and equipment at specified intervals, ordering food and supplies as needed, for the purpose of ensuring availability of items required for meeting projected menu requirements as well as adhering to established nutritional and budget guidelines
- Oversees the preparation, cooking, serving of food and beverage items for the purpose of meeting projected meal quantities and mandated nutritional and health standards
- Prepares a variety of documentation to provide written support and/or convey information and meeting reporting timelines
Requirements:
- High school diploma/equivalent, or the ability to obtain diploma/equivalent within 12 months of employment
- Completion of Phase 3 of the LA Certification for Cafeteria Manager Training Program preferred
- Basic math skills to exchange currency and extend recipes
- Ability to write, read and follow written instructions, schedules, recipes, and warnings
- Knowledge of kitchen operations and proper food safety handling
- Ability to learn computer application programs
- Possess effective supervisory skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
