Phelps Dunbar, a 280 lawyer firm with 9 offices in the Southeastern U.S. is looking for a Marketing Coordinator to join its growing marketing and business development department. This position would reside in the firm’s New Orleans office and work closely with the Director of Marketing and Business Development and other key professionals at the firm in key marketing activities and initiatives. Main duties and responsibilities include:

- Support marketing efforts for New Orleans, Houston, Jackson, Tupelo, Gulfport offices. Work with Director and attorneys in office to identify marketing opportunities and initiatives.

- Coordinate firm press releases and media outreach regarding new attorneys, significant firm news, client wins, etc. Create and maintain an online media clipping book. Oversee nomination and submissions for awards. Work with Director in developing a plan for increasing the firm’s media presence in each one of our markets as well as key industries.

- Oversee and maintain the content on the firm’s web site. Look at ways to maximize search engine optimization as well as develop an online marketing/social media strategy.

- Coordinate the firm’s listings and presence in key directories including Best Lawyers, Chambers, Best Directory, etc.

- Manage the development of the firm’s newsletters and alerts, including layout, editing and distribution to clients. Develop a list of third party sources that should receive alerts to expand content use.

- Oversee the firm’s current database/mailing lists tool. Serve critical role in future plans with CRM or ERM.

- Coordinate firm events and sponsorships, including invitation, logistics, materials, firm involvement, and follow-up for assigned offices.

- Handle firmwide check requests, invoices and charitable contributions as well as the ones for assigned offices. Assist Director with budget monitoring and preparation.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in marketing/business development for a law firm or professional service firm.

• Ability to work remotely with team members as well as manage multiple projects while prioritizing work assignments.
• Skilled in a variety of technology tools, including Microsoft Office, web databases, intranet and client relationship management databases.
• Strong writing, communication and collaboration skills.
• Bachelors degree required.
