Neighborhoods Partnership Network (NPN) is a nonprofit organization based in New Orleans, Louisiana, with a mission to improve the quality of life by engaging New Orleanians in neighborhood revitalization and civic process. Our community outreach includes critical communications platforms including our Trumpet Magazine, published every other month, our Trumpet Tidbits, our weekly e-newsletter, our blogs, our social media, and our website.

NPN seeks a dynamic person to fill the part time position of Communications Coordinator. The Communications Coordinator reports to the Director of Operations. The Communications Coordinator coordinates the exchange of information among citizens by assuming editorial responsibility for all NPN publications, providing technical assistance for neighborhood associations using the NPN website, and working to increase revenue through advertising and partnerships, specifically through:

1. Coordination of the graphic layout and printing of the bi-monthly Trumpet Magazine to ensure execution
2. Working with NPN�s event planner to coordinate the bi-monthly Trumpet Release Parties
3. Responsibility for the layout, content, and execution of the Trumpet Tidbits e-newsletter
4. Ensuring the sustainability of NPN and its programs by researching and contacting partners, underwriters, and advertisers for the Trumpet and the Tidbits
5. Writing editorials, give presentations, or undertake such additional tasks as may be requested by the Executive Director or the Director of Operations which are conducive to marketing New Orleans neighborhoods and promoting NPN events.

This person should be extremely tech-savvy, reliable, and self-sufficient. Proven experience with and mastery of graphic layout software like Photoshop and Illustrator, and social media platforms such as Constant Contact, Blogger, Facebook, and Twitter is required. Ideal candidate will be organized and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must have a passion for social justice. This will be a high-paced, fun job for the right person, but a can-do attitude and willingness to learn on the job is necessary.

The position will be part time to start, with the potential for growth into a full time position. Starting hourly salary will be $16-20/hour depending on experience.

Education/Experience

College degree required
Must have good writing and communication skills � press release writing experience and current local business and press contacts preferred
Sales experience a plus
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and social media
Able to use Adobe Suite of software
Able to respond quickly to urgent tasks
Able to juggle multiple priorities
Knowledge of SalesForce a plus
