FirstLine Schools – Recruitment Associate
Position Summary
FirstLine Schools is currently seeking a Recruitment Associate, who will be responsible for implementing efforts to build a high-quality candidate pool help in order to ensure that the 5 schools that we currently operate are staffed with the best teachers, leaders, and staff possible and that meets the specific hiring needs of each school.
This position will provide the successful candidate with an opportunity to gain valuable recruitment and selection experience and to have a profound impact on the staffing for a charter management organization that has been at the forefront of the education reform movement in New Orleans.
Specific Responsibilities
The Recruitment Associate will facilitate the development of a high-quality candidate pool through responsibilities that include but are not limited to:
Recruitment
• Planning and implementing effective recruitment and attraction strategies, including school-specific events
• Analyzing the strategies in order to ensure that they are yielding high-quality candidates
• Managing job postings and advertisements
• Supporting the development and refinement of marketing materials
• Serving as the primary point person for all candidate inquiries and communication
• Managing and refining the candidate application process through the database (Taleo)
• Implementing and maintaining a system of communication with school leaders that effective vacancy and staffing needs and candidate referrals
• Representing FirstLine Schools at any recruitment events or job fairs
• Participating in any collaborative recruitment efforts or partnerships with other organizations
• Managing the staff referral process
Selection
• Screening of resumes and applications through the candidate database (Taleo)
• Scheduling and conducting initial screenings of teacher candidates
• Communicating decisions to candidates in a timely manner
• Distributing candidate information and resumes to school leaders
• Collecting and reporting any of the additional candidate information that school leaders need for the selection process
• Tracking the status of candidates that are interviewing with school leaders
• Ongoing refinement of attraction and selection strategies and systems based on feedback from school leaders and through the collection and analysis of recruitment and selection data
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will be committed to the mission of FirstLine Schools and will be detail-oriented, independent and will be able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment. More specifically, we are looking for candidates that meet the following qualifications:
• BA or BS
• 2+ years of experience working in urban education, preferably teaching
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work effectively with multiple different audiences while displaying a high level of professionalism
• Excellent organization, time management and follow-up skills
• Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
• Excellent computer skills; database management experience is preferred
• Ability to learn quickly and to be effective in a fast-past, dynamic environment
• Flexibility and willingness to work evening and weekend hours
