Lapeyre Stair, Inc., a growing division of Laitram, L.L.C., seeks an analytical, organized, proactive individual for a Business Development Analyst position. This position will be based in Laitram’s Harahan, Louisiana office.

Lapeyre Stair is the manufacturer of the unique Alternating Tread Stair invented by our founder J. M. Lapeyre. In recent years, we have expanded our product line to include designs for conventional stairs, landings, and platform systems. Our innovative designs and breakthrough manufacturing equipment and techniques position us to be highly successful in pre-engineered access device markets. The market potential is very large and our penetration is just at the formative stage. The hire will accordingly play a key role in identifying and developing new business opportunities.
This hire will be instrumental in understanding the market subsectors where the Lapeyre Stair brings unique value and will help develop customer messages and sales/communication strategies to accelerate market penetration. The hire will be part of a larger community of business development analysts across the Laitram campus thereby exposing the hire to best practices and career growth in the execution of this high-value commercial function.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, analyze, and provide strategic recommendations to prioritize target markets/applications where Lapeyre Stair products bring value.
- Lead efforts to develop and implement plans to sell products and services in the target markets. This includes the assessment of market size, developing compelling messages and economic justification models.
- Develop and implement plans for proactive sales efforts to scale our marketing effort.
- Development and delivery of project quotes to customers.
- Follow-up with customers to build customer base.
Requirements:
- Related B.S. or B.A. degree; MBA a plus.
- 1-3 years experience in business to business marketing or sales.
- Excellent market research and quantitative/analytical skills.
- Experience utilizing analytical and business modeling skills.
- Ability to recognize and articulate business opportunities.
- Construction industry experience a plus.
- Effective presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
- Potential to lead teams.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, database structure, spreadsheet analysis, and internet research skills.
