Laitram L.L.C. Information Technology Services Department has an opening for a Systems Engineer, reporting to the IT Infrastructure Manager. The primary responsibilities for this position include the design, implementation and support of internal and external (Internet based) systems.

Responsibilities: *Collaborate with other System Engineers to Design, Implement and Support the following systems across multiple sites: – Oracle E-Business Suite – Cisco-based LAN/ WAN network – Multi-OS server environment – IBM Tivoli Storage Manager backup system – Enterprise VMWare infrastructure – IBM and EMC SANs – Business Continuity Processes *Identify opportunities and recommend solutions for improving service efficiency and effectiveness with a focus on the business. *Mentor co-workers technically and professionally. *Participate in and lead projects intended to continually improve/upgrade server and network infrastructures. *Author technical installation, configuration and support documentation. *Maintain effective communication with end-users and team members. *Perform planned system changes and upgrades with minimal impact to business operations. *Work directly with vendors and contractors to provide innovative business solutions in a timely manner. *Global travel opportunities as business needs require.

Requirements: *B. S. in Computer Science, MIS or related field *Minimum of 5 years’ experience in designing, implementing and supporting infrastructure systems. *Proficient in designing, implementing and supporting Microsoft Application, Desktop and Server architectures. *Experience planning and leading IT related projects. *Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills. *Self-managed and works well in a team environment. *Strong Linux background preferred
