Why Teach at FirstLine Schools?
Fifteen years ago, FirstLine Schools started the first charter school in New Orleans, which became the highest performing middle school in the city. FirstLine now operates four K-8th grade school and will add a high school in 2011-12 when it assumes management of Clark High School from the Recovery School District. We are committed to three things:

Teaching Opportunities at Our Schools
FirstLine Schools seeks talented, passionate teachers for the following subjects and grade levels:

Elementary Teaching Positions:
K-3rd Grade Teacher
4th Grade ELA/Social Studies Teacher

Middle School Teaching Positions:

*High School Teaching Opportunities include positions at the 9th Grade Academy, 10th – 12th Grade, & The Net @ Clark HS

Our Schools *Joseph S. Clark Preparatory High School – Become part of the rebirth of a New Orleans legacy; help turnaround a historic school with an innovative college prep curriculum and culture.

*Arthur Ashe Charter School – Be a part of the school that made the greatest performance improvements in the city of New Orleans in 2009 and had the fifth highest test scores of all charter and non-charter schools in the Recovery School District.

*John Dibert Community School – Participate in a renaissance as Dibert continues its transformation from a district to a charter school and takes achievement to a whole new level.

*Samuel J. Green Charter School – Join the staff of our flagship turn-around school: continue the transformation of one of the lowest performing schools in the state of Louisiana to one of the best.

*Langston Hughes Academy Charter School – Help make the LHA dream come true as the school graduates its first 8th grade class.

Teaching Requirements
Education & Experience

* Believe deeply in the mission and values of FirstLine Schools * Have a minimum of 2 years of lead teaching experience (not including student teaching, internships, etc.) * Demonstrated success working with students in an urban, non-selective public school * A strong background in and command of content area * A BA or BS * Louisiana Teacher Certification completed or in progress

***Note: If you are recently certified and/or certified and have less than 2 years of lead teaching experience, you may also be considered for a Teacher Associate position. More information about this position can be found on our Careers Page: http://www.firstlineschools.org/careers.
Most of our Teacher Associate positions are for the elementary school grades, although we may also have some Teacher Associate positions available at the Middle and High School Level.
