Responsibilities:
1. Manages the Louisiana Spirit Program at St. Bernard Project
– Reports to the Executive Director
– Under the direction of the Executive Director, oversees attendance, deployment and performance of
all team members. Routinely samples/monitors staff operations by participating in team meetings to
evaluate team processes; attends Stress Managers' meetings and accompanies others to meetings.
– Formulates recommendations for the Executive Director regarding program staff assignments.
– Assures all reporting requirements are met and delivered in a timely manner.
– Assures all staff is trained in appropriate operations procedures.
– Assures that all staff is knowledgeable and competent in practicing fiscal and human resource
responsibilities appropriate to their job title and job functions.
– Maintains relationships with stakeholder groups, agencies and individuals.
– Attends various meetings as designated by Executive Director. Establishes and maintains a network
of stakeholder groups, agencies and individuals.
2. Community Outreach
3. Distillation of best practices for oil spill and other mental health related response
4. In-house coordinator of peer-to-peer counseling
5. Ad-Hoc Development work focusing on best practices and organization replication
Qualifications: – Experience in the mental health field – Educations in mental health field – Minimum of 2 years supervisory or management experience (at least 1 year previous experience as outreach specialist or Crisis Counselor may substitute)
