JOB TITLE: VICE PRESIDENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES

REPORTS TO: CEO

SCOPE:

The Vice President of Human Resources strategizes, develops and leads human resource practices and objectives to provide an employee-oriented, high-performance culture, emphasizing empowerment, quality, productivity and standards, goal attainment and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce that is self-motivated, self-disciplined and committed to the vision, mission and values of ASI Federal Credit Union (ASIFCU) and A Shared Initiative, Inc. (ASII).

The Vice President of Human Resources leads and coordinates the overall provision and implementation of human resource services, policies and programs for ASI FCU and ASII, reports to the CEO and serves on the executive management team, working closely with senior management to build and support company culture and coaches and advises credit union and nonprofit managers about human resources issues.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Work closely with CEO to evaluate ASI-ASII culture and provide
leadership and recommendations to accomplish goals and objectives.

•Create ASI-ASII strategic recruitment and selection plan; manage the staffing and employment process.

•Develop and oversee performance management and improvement system.

•Develop, manage and/or coordinate strategic employee orientation, training and development plan to meet personal and organizational needs of company employees.

•Oversee and direct the design, development and administration of compensation and benefit programs, i.e., health, retirement, disability, etc.

•Develop and manage annual budgets for department and perform periodic cost-benefit analysis.

•Recommend, evaluate and keep current ASI-ASII policies and procedures. Assure that such policies are available to all employees.

•Evaluate procedures and technology solutions to improve human resources data management.

•Evaluate and recommend human resource outsourcing opportunities and identify potential vendors/sources.

•Establish and implement short and long range human resource department plans, goals and objectives.

•Oversee employee relations issues, coaching management as appropriate.

•Coordinate equal opportunity programs to achieve diversity goals.

•Serve on planning and policy making committees as needed and participate in senior team meetings and discussions as appropriate.

•Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

•12 years work experience in business environment; at least 8 years hands-on human resources generalist, holding senior responsibility for at least 2 functions.

•Proven ability to think strategically about people, partner with other managers, build/influence a corporate culture, network with other human resources and business professionals outside of ASI-ASII.

•High integrity, sense of humor, strong team player, proven developer of people, ability to give “bad” or hard news, resourceful, analysis with compassion.

•Passion for and commitment to vision, mission and values.

•Bachelor’s Degree.

•Human Resources Management or SHRM designation a plus.
